taking longer than expected to figure out the perfect track to play next.
The music should be playing soon, but if you get tired of waiting, try switching to one of your other stations.
Pandora probably couldn’t figure out which ad to play.

I bet this is their way of hiding a license restriction that dictates how often they can play any given song.

I remember when I first started listening to Pandora. I also remember the first time I heard an Ad, and I thought “At least it isn’t a barrage of ads.” Then I remember when I heard three ads within 15 minutes. Then 10 ads within 20 minutes. Angry Birds did the same thing to me.
